Lonely Planet has named Brisbane as the coolest and hippest city in the country as per a recent survey.
Brisbane gives you the quintessential Queensland experience from a vibrant urban base; world class shopping and eclectic lifestyle.
“Booming Brisbane is an energetic river town on the way up with an edgy arts scene, pumping nightlife and great coffee and restaurants,” Lonely Planet says. “Sub-culture undercurrents run deep here with cool bookshops, globally-inspired restaurants and cafes, bars and band rooms aplenty.”
Brisbane is a place where cafes, bars , op shop and events spring up every week. Its beautiful Brisbane weather and laid back lifestyle is even compelling the locals of Sydney and Melbourne to move to this ‘hippest’ city.
The men’s mag GQ has also named Brisbane to be undergoing a renaissance of coolness the envy of other Australia cities such as Sydney and Melbourne.
This adds another feather in the cap for a city which was previously believed to be a boring business center touching the shores of a brown River.
