What’s on in Brisbane June 2020

With lockdown restrictions gradually easing, some of our favourite events are set to return to Brisbane for June 2020, whilst others are postponed. Some have moved online for exciting virtual events, and there are some brand new social distancing-friendly events coming to Brisbane. Read on to find out what’s on in Brisbane in June 2020.


Grease & Saturday Night Fever

Where: Yatala Drive-In

When: Saturday 6th June

Price: $49 per car

An evening of retro musicals will include screenings of Grease with live sing-along, and Saturday Night Fever. 

Yatala Drive-In are implementing COVID-safe measures, including a contactless entry procedure with barcode scanning of pre-purchased tickets. Patrons are required to bring garbage bags to dispose of their own rubbish, and hand sanitiser stations will also be set up. 

You can bring along your own snacks and beverages, or pre-book the Yatala Family Feast which includes popcorn, potato chips, Maltesers, soft drinks, and lollies for $40.

Drive-in Concert

Where: Cleveland Showgrounds

When: Saturday 13th June

Price: $49.95

Since COVID rendered concerts unsafe, Europe has seen the rise of drive-in concerts, and Brisbane is set to follow suit. The drive-in concert will be headlined by Russell Morris, who will be joined by Masters of Pop and The Soul Movers.

It will work in a similar way to a drive-in movie theatre, with attendees remaining in their car and tuning into the FM frequency, meanwhile, the show will be projected onto the huge screen.

On arrival, you will be shown to your parking spot. From there you will be able to order snacks via the website, and have them delivered to your car.

The Wizard’s Beer Festival

Where: Location to be disclosed

When: Sunday 14th June

Price: To be confirmed

This Harry Potter-themed beer festival was originally scheduled for March; however after being postponed it will now take place on 14th June.

As you sip on a variety of beers, you will be able to make your way through a wizarding wonderland of wand-making classes, DJs, tarot card readers, and more.

Appropriate wizard attire is encouraged but not necessary. Whilst ticket prices have not yet been disclosed, we do know that they include a free beer!

The Downside Up Bar 

Where: A secret location in Brisbane

When: Sunday 21st June

Fans of Stranger Things will delight at this pop-up bar in a room that looks just like Joyce Byers’ living room, complete with an illuminated alphabet on the wall. Sip on themed cocktails including Eleven’s Eggos and the Mouthbreather, as well as Demorgorgon slushies. 

Downside Up Bar will also feature arcade games, DJs spinning 80s tunes, and a dark and dangerous mission that customers can complete. Just watch out for the mind flayers!

The Village Markets

Where: Stones Corner

When: Sunday 28th June 

Price: Free

The Village Markets are a quarterly event, however since the last markets were moved online in March due to COVID, we can’t wait for their return in June. As usual, The Village Markets will feature local live music, workshops, street food, and boutique market stalls selling fashion, vintage, art, and lifestyle wares from small business creatives. 

The markets will run from 9am-2pm, with live music from start to finish. Make your way to Stones Corner to shop for gifts, vintage items, and handmade goods.

PBR Brisbane Last Cowboy Standing

PBR is the event not comparable to anything else in the Brisbane. It tests the guts of the audience too.  Full three hours of gyrated action added with full adrenalin, and terrifyingly magnificent event. And there is unparalleled amazement too. You don’t have a single moment to be on your seat as exhilaration continues to grow unless the last bull is buckled up.

Comes the hot June, and there is a phenomenal gala entertainment waiting to happen in the night right in the South East Queensland of Brisbane city. You are welcomed by expert Bull Riders who have returned once again to Brisbane Entertainment Centre. The event is marked by 28 riders who are fighting for the all-time glory. 

These robust bull fighters battle with their muscle power, intelligence, and their nimbleness. These fighters ride on 52 of the finest untamed bucking bulls for no less than eight seconds. The forte and temperament of bull fighters will be put to test this June.  

As the camera angles on your face, you are taken behind the scenes and privately into the bucking chutes. One thee moments, you find the bull riders, or better known as bull fighters take these bovine animals for phenomenal surprises.  

PBR Brisbane is not where you are only going to see the bull fights, but there is also the right balance of choreography, pyrotechnics, enhancing high voltage music, and terrific concert sound systems and superb big sizes screens installed for the replays.

MS Brissie to the Bay

Where: Brisbane

When: June

Price: $30 per adult, $15 per child. Entrants must also raise a minimum of $250 in donations.

MS Brissie to the Bay is returning for its 30th year, with a few changes made to comply with restrictions and ensure the health and safety of participants. Instead of a one-day event, this year cyclists can choose their own path and complete it on any day during June. 

Set your own goal and distance, and ride on a safe bike route outside or on a stationary bike at home. 

Funds raised via Brissie to the Bay go towards supplying vital services for Australians living with MS and other neurological conditions.

 Roll Racing Brisbane

Have you been missing the days of racing on the streets? Roll Racing Brisbane offers you the best and one of the most enthralling street style racing events. It is one event where you are going to have unlimited fun in the company of your friends and just everyone around. 

With Roll Racing Brisbane, you will not have any risk or trouble. The theme of this amazing event is designed by the exceptional car racing events. The theme of roll racing is structured by the keeping the track time well-recorded. Racers are limited by number and you have value for your money.

V8 Race Experience

V8 Race Brisbane is one in a life time challenge that opens the door for amazing thrills right in the notorious terrains of Queensland Raceway in Willow Bank.
