It’s a great time to visit if you’re after some Christmas shopping or checking out some of the many events on offer around town. Here are just some of the things that are happening during December 2022:

King George Square – Lord Mayor’s Lighting of the Christmas Tree
This Christmas event is happening at King George Square from 6.30pm on Friday November 25. Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner will turn on the 22m-high Christmas tree’s twinkling lights accompanied by special Christmas musical performances
Standing tall at 22-metres, Brisbane City’s Christmas Tree is one of the largest in the Southern Hemisphere and has been a long-standing tradition dating back to the 1950s.
There will also be a Twilight Markets, selling local handmade goods, featuring over 60 local designers.

Queen St Mall
Queen st mall is full of events and activities. You can actually go there any time and you may see some fun activities but some main events will be happening at certain time slots. Enjoy Christmas-inspired pop-up performances and roaming entertainment in the mall from 11:00am – 3:00pm daily and 4:30pm – 8:30pm during late night trade —so there are plenty of chances to catch the festive fun
There will be a lot of live events, giveaways, and activities for kids. It’s all here at Queen st mall.
Christmas in South Bank
Head to South Bank Parklands from Saturday 17 December to Thursday 22 December 2022 for all Chritmas events in South bank.
From big stage shows, roving performers and high-energy singalongs, to live music and festive films, Christmas at South Bank is a magical experience for visitors of all ages.
Start new Christmas traditions while spending time with family and friends over six days and nights of Yuletide delights in Brisbane’s favourite holiday hub!:
Take a selfie with the man of the moment at Santa’s Stopover, a free photo station at Flowstate Pavilion with sessions from 4pm to 9.30pm nightly. Visit the entrance booth up to an hour before your preferred session time to collect your free entry tickets.

Christmas Cinema, presented by eatSouthBank, returns to South Bank this festive season.
Roll out the picnic rug in River Quay’s spectacular open-air cinema for a free double-feature screening every evening from 17 to 22 December.

LORD MAYOR’S CHRISTMAS CAROLS
Join Brisbane’s top entertainers and personalities for a Christmas music extravaganza on Saturday, December 10!
Held at the beautiful Riverstage (with gates open from 4pm), the Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols will see a star-studded lineup share Christmas classics and new takes, encouraging everyone to join in.
Tickets are on sale 9am Monday 21 November via Ticketmaster for $5 and free for under 18. The show will be broadcast on Channel 9 on Friday 16 December.
