Did you know that Pantone gives every calendar year a color? Last year was Viva Magenta, and this year, 2024, is represented by the peach fuzz color. It is a light, delicate color sitting between pink and orange and represents our desire to be close to those we love and the joy we get when allowing ourselves to tune into who we are and savor that moment of quiet time. As we celebrate this year’s color and incorporate it into our homes, below are monumental global events to look out for this year.

The total solar eclipse

Solar eclipses have often been surrounded by cultural and historical significance in various societies throughout history, and many ancient civilizations, such as the Greeks and the Chinese, developed myths and stories to explain the occurrence of eclipses. A total solar eclipse is a rare event that occurs when the moon passes between the Earth and the sun, completely blocks the sun’s face, and casts its shadow on the Earth’s surface. Though it occurs for just a few minutes, it is a natural event that provides a unique and memorable experience for those fortunate enough to witness it. This year, on April 8, some parts of Mexico, the United States, and Canada will experience a total solar eclipse.
